Digital twins explained

We can use a range of technologies to create digital replicas of your products, locations or processes, but what actually is a digital twin?

A digital twin is a virtual representation of an object or system designed to accurately reflect a physical object. It spans the object’s lifecycle, is updated from real-time data and uses simulation, machine learning and reasoning to help make decisions.

How does a Digital twin work?

The studied object for example, a gas plant, is fitted with various sensors related to key areas of functionality. These sensors produce data about different aspects of the physical object’s performance, such as energy output, temperature, weather conditions and more. The processing system receives this information and applies it to the digital copy in real-time.
